Humble Experience

It was a great day today instead of following my daily routine did something good and rewarding.Rewarding not in the monetary terms but in the terms which can be compared to nothing monetary at all.

I volunteered to serve food for a church out here that feeds the homeless. It was a great experience altogether as saw very different kinds of people walking by some were so poor but still trying to keep smiling and also Thanking God I also did see some people who were really really in so much need and still they were thanking God zillions times and there were bunch of people who were grumbling and ready to start a fight anytime ……
Some people complaining some people requesting a second serving some of them trying to grab things they can …some people asking us to smile and complaining that why were we not smiling and some people thanking as if we prepared food for them .
This whole experience was the most humble experience and made me wonder that do we actually Thank god enough for all the things we have we are so fortunate for everything god has given us .
A house, good food ,a paying job and above all a great family backing…but still we all are in a mad race to get more more and more when will this ever end ?I guess never ever till we make up our mind to make it end somehow in this new fast pacing world we have really totally forgotten to enjoy the tiny pleasures in life like just sitting and enjoying the present instead of worrying about the future or regretting the past .
I still miss those days from childhood when I used to just see the rain falling and after it rained will take paper boats and go outside and let them float in puddles….what a sweet experience or just having tea with my family on a rainy day and enjoying each others company …simple tiny pleasures but the impact is amazing…. And now it is just trying to get everything done with the clock ticking all the time.
So all of you who are taking the time to read through this blog I urge you to spend few minutes a day to “Thank god” for all that he has given us and try to enjoy what you have and also get the blessings of God by giving back to the community in any way possible it does not only have to be money there are so many other ways you can help out and I bet the experience will be very enriching ….
Thanks for reading and you all have a great weekend.
